ICF MENTOR COACHING REQUIREMENTS

Firstly, let’s define Mentor Coaching for an ICF Credential. In essence, it involves coaching and feedback conducted within a collaborative, appreciative, and dialogued process. Furthermore, this process is directly based on an observed or recorded coaching session in order to increase the coach’s capability, specifically in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies.

Turning to the specific credentialing requirements, candidates pursuing the ACC via the ACSTH or Portfolio paths must complete 10 hours of Mentor Coaching prior to submitting their application. Additionally, they required credentialing candidates to partner with a Mentor Coach who holds a valid ACC*, PCC, or MCC Credential. (Please note: Further context may be needed to clarify the specific condition for ACC Mentors indicated by the asterisk).

Likewise, candidates on the PCC ACSTH and Portfolio paths must also complete 10 hours of Mentor Coaching before submitting their application. However, for this PCC level, they are required to partner with a Mentor Coach holding specifically a valid PCC or MCC Credential.

Finally, for candidates on the MCC path, 10 hours of Mentor Coaching are also mandatory prior to submitting their application. Crucially, these hours must be new and therefore cannot have been used for obtaining a prior credential. Moreover, MCC candidates must partner with a Mentor Coach who holds a valid MCC Credential.
